Dinner Clean Up

So I've always kinda been anti-blogging.  I'm not sure why. You would think it would be everything I hoped and dreamed of.  I get to write my thoughts out (which believe it or not, I actually like to write). I get to keep in touch with friends. I get to share funny stories with everyone. I used to love Xanga. Who remembers that??  I would religiously write in my Xanga every day. What a teenager I was....ha.  Anyways, blogging always reminds me of that movie "Julie and Julia" or whatever it was called. I'm pretty sure that's why I was so anti-blogging for so long.  I did not want to become that lady....Psycho....And didn't she end up leaving her husband or something because of blogging? I can't quite remember.  All I remember is how much I did not want my life to end up the ways her's did. That movie really effected me and left me with a bad taste in my mouth for blogging.  I probably shouldn't let movies effect me like that, but movies really creep me out sometimes.  It was a cute movie, I just don't want to live that life.

Anyways, all of a sudden, when I got married, I wanted to become the typical "mormon blogger". But let's be real, not really typical...I mostly wanted a blog as a way to stalk my other friends...you guys all know how I am... I just like to keep in touch with everyone (which both Brant and I are pretty terrible at...) Anyways, after being married for....what? 7 months now...I started realizing all the fun and exciting things that are happening in our lives right now, and since I'm the world's worst journal writer, maybe blogging will help!

So my first story for my first "Bramber" post (which isn't really fun or exciting) is about our dinner clean up yesterday. Brant's going to be embarrassed, but that's what blogs are for - right???

For the last month or so, Brant and I have been buying Bountiful Baskets. (If you live anywhere that Bountiful Baskets is offered, we highly recommend it!) It's a co-op thing where we go and pick up literally a basket full of fruits and vegetables each Saturday that we pay for it. We have gotten all kinda of new fruits and vegetables that we've never bought before. And it's nice because it forces us to snack on fruits and veggies instead of nasty junk food.

Well last time we got Bountiful Baskets, we got 4 artichokes. What the crap am I supposed to do with 4 artichokes?  So I look up a recipe for some artichoke dip to have with some french bread. I learned how to steam artichokes and it actually turned out pretty well.  I was proud of myself.

Anyways, in order to make this dip, we had to scoop off all the meat off the leaves of the artichokes, right?  Well in my head I was thinking "I'm going to put all the leaves in a nice pile and throw them away in the trash after we are finished getting all the meat off." All the while my husband was thinking, "What the heck is Amber putting these in a nice pile for?? This is what a garbage

disposal is for. I'm going to just throw this whole pile of artichoke leaves down the drain when she isn't looking." Sure enough, the minute I wasn't looking, Brant pours all the artichoke leaves down the drain. My sink now looks exactly like a clogged toilet...floaties and all (Too far?? ha)  So now what are we supposed to do???

Well since Brant is so creative, he decides that since it looks like a clogged toilet, why not treat it like a clogged toilet...Yes...he actually takes our plunger that we use for the bathroom and plunges are sink...

Lovely, right? I didn't think so either. Don't worry though!  I made him sanitize the plunger before he used it in the sink.  And sanitize the bath tub and the sink after he used the plunger in it.

(Not a great video....but kinda funny)

Anyways, I'd love to say that I think Brant learned his lesson not to put a bunch of artichoke leaves down the garbage disposal, but only time will tell...Especially because he was successful, we'll never really know.
